           PAKISTANI STUDENTS CELEBRATES 14th AUGUST

 

This Friday 14th August 2009, Pakistani Students at CHALMERS has celeberated the Independence Day of their Sweet Homeland with great zest and zeal. This tradition has been followed for past couple of years, and this time around it was arranged on a much bigger scaler as anticipated. It starts of with a Flag raising ceremony and ends oon a small gathering of all the students where views and opinions for the upcoming students have been shared. The contribution from the students in form of foods and milli songs has made this eve the one to be remembered always.. Here are few snapshots from the ceremony

Accommodation Committee ' 09

The PakChalmers Accommodation Committee year 2009 has been formed in order to facilitate the upcoming students of batch 09. The Accommodation Committee '09 is responsible for 

  • Providing a temporary accommodation for 1-2 days to the upcoming Pakistani students coming to CHALMERS University.
  • Providing guidance in terms of acquiring their permenant accomodation as soon as possible.
  • Introducing the new students to the general rules and regulations within a city as well as rules and regulations put forth by the CHALMERS University which must have to be followed by the students. The aim is to mentally prepare the new students so that they can adjust easily in a new enviroment so that they should not voilate the rules & procedures that in turns potray a bad image of the country.

New Västtrafik payment system from 18 May 2009

 

 

The Gothenburg region's new payment system for public transport is effective as of today (May 18). From now on, all trips should be paid for with the blue travel cards. The paper "100 kronor cards" will disappear, but will be valid as a means of payment until October.

Tax Agency ready for June 1st ID Card rush

 

After two and half years of waiting, immigrants arriving in Sweden will finally be able to obtain Swedish national identity cards.Starting June 1st, the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) will begin accepting applications from people who are registered as living in Sweden with a personal identity number (personnummer), are at least 13-years-old, and can verify their identity.
